Uganda is set to host the 11th East Africa Internet Governance Forum (EAIGF), aimed at addressing key issues to enhance internet development and governance in the region, as announced by the East African Community (EAC) in a statement on Monday.

The EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, stated that the forum, themed “Building our Multistakeholder Digital Future for East Africa,” will be held in Kampala on September 11-12.

The EAC Deputy Secretary General responsible for Infrastructure, Productive, Social, and Political Sectors, Andrea Aguer Ariik Malueth, urged ICT industry players and stakeholders to participate actively in shaping the digital integration agenda for East Africa.

Malueth emphasized the importance of effective internet governance in fostering innovation, ensuring security, and promoting inclusivity in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. The EAIGF, established in 2008, serves as a crucial platform for dialogue on internet governance matters across East Africa.
