Oilfields Engineering Company Requests Treasury To Stop Paying Zakhem LTD Ksh. 4 billion

Oilfields Engineering and Suppliers Limited has written to the National Treasury, requesting the halt of a USD 31 million (Ksh. 4 billion) payment to Zakhem International Constructions Limited. According to Oilfields, the payment is illegal due to a court order.

“KPC deliberately failed and omitted to inform you of the existence of Mareva injunctive orders issued by the High Court in the above-captioned matter on 31st August 2023, which were upheld by the Court of Appeal in COACAPPL 463 of 2023 Zakhem International Construction Limited (Cyprus) vs. Oilfields Engineering & Suppliers Limited & KPC through a ruling dated 15th December 2023,” the letter states.

The letter, dated July 22, 2024, is addressed to the Treasury PS. Zakhem International Construction has been in a dispute with Oilfields Engineering and Supplies over the performance of a subcontract agreement dated November 2015.
