Harun Wanyama triumphed in the highly competitive Division One category at the ninth leg of the NCBA Golf Series, held yesterday at the Kenya Airforce Golf Club in Eastleigh, Nairobi. This marked the first time the series was hosted at the Airforce’s 9-hole course.
A total of 97 golfers competed for coveted spots at the series’ Grand Finale. The competition was intense across all categories, including Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and the Junior category.
Wanyama, with a handicap of 4, won decisively with a total of 40 points. Major Elvis Murunga, playing with a handicap of 6, followed closely as the runner-up with 37 points.
In the Division Two Men’s category, Wally Bitok, with a handicap of 17, secured the top position with an impressive score of 46 points. Jacob Chacha, who has a handicap of 20, came in second with 43 points.
Carol Nthiwa, playing off a handicap of 23, dominated the Division Two Ladies’ category with a score of 33 points, narrowly beating Damaris Kikwal (handicap 21) who finished with 32 points.
Col. Henry Mwereneru, playing off a handicap of 50, excelled in Division Three, showcasing his golfing skills with a score of 49 points.
In the Junior category, Hakeem Mutungi (handicap 21) emerged victorious with a score of 28 points.
Jeremiah Kariuki, with a handicap of 33, won the Guest title with a score of 39 points, while Jared Onyancha (handicap 32) claimed the Staff title with 35 points.

Following this event, the series will move to Thika Sports Club and Jinja Golf Club in Uganda for the 10th and 11th legs, respectively, both taking place next week on Saturday, August 3rd.
