Gender, Culture, and Heritage Cabinet nominee Stella Soi Lang’at has disclosed her net worth to be approximately Sh70 million. This includes assets such as homes, land, a few cows, avocado orchards, and some shares and securities. Lang’at, who was the fifth and final CS nominee to be vetted, appeared before the Committee on Appointments.

Lang’at has built a career in public administration, serving in various ministries over her 29-year tenure in the central government. Her experience includes roles in the State Department of Public Service and the Labour Department, and she was part of the team that established the State Department of Gender in 2004.

She has received various capacity-building training in mediation, conflict management, and peacebuilding. Her service spans different regions, including Nyanza, Eastern, and South Rift Valley. Additionally, Lang’at contributed to institutional building while working at the Office of the Attorney General, where she helped set up a witness protection agency, unique in Eastern Central Africa.

“I believe this experience allowed me to engage with issues of Gender-Based Violence and the necessity of protecting witnesses to ensure successful prosecutions and to strengthen the administrative justice system,” she stated.
