Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a security guard whose decomposed body was discovered in his home in the Kibera slums of Nairobi. Neighbors became alarmed by a foul odor coming from his residence, prompting them to investigate.

The deceased, who was approximately 23 years old, had not been seen for three days until his body was found on the evening of August 10. He lived alone and was known to report to work and return home late, which made it challenging for neighbors to notice his absence. Additionally, his employers were unaware of his residence and did not attempt to locate him. His mobile phone was unreachable, according to Kilimani police chief Ben Kobia.

The strong smell led neighbors to break into the house, where they found the body lying on a mattress on the floor. Police arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation, and transported the body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further inquiries.

In another incident in Korogocho slums, police discovered the body of a man outside a local hotel on Sunday morning. Authorities were called to the scene after the body was found, and no physical injuries were noted at that time. The body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and investigation.
