The scenic Limuru Golf Course will host the Kenya Society for the Blind Golf Tournament this Friday, attracting over 100 top amateur golfers competing for prestigious honors.

Founded in 1956 under Cap 251 of the Laws of Kenya, the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) is committed to supporting individuals at risk of blindness and those living with visual impairments.

The tournament, which will kick off at 6:30 a.m., aims to raise funds to support education for individuals with visual impairments. Limuru Country Club captain James Githinji expressed his excitement for the event, highlighting the course’s pristine condition and its suitability for an inclusive golfing experience.

“The course is in pristine condition, so we expect a large turnout on Friday. We firmly believe in inclusivity; hosting this tournament underscores our commitment to allowing people from all walks of life to enjoy this beautiful sport. The wide fairways and lush greens will provide golfers with a relaxed atmosphere to play their best golf,” he stated.

Major sponsors for the event include the Kenya National Highways Authority, KCB, United Bank for Africa, COESCA, Rupa’s, and CPF, all of which are contributing to the success of this one-day event.

He noted, “This competition is crucial for improving the game of golf and providing an opportunity for people with visual impairments to enjoy themselves on the course. Our goal is to raise sufficient funds to expand educational opportunities for the blind and those with visual impairments.”

The tournament will feature awards across various categories, including longest drive (for both men and women), guest winner, best first nine, best second nine, lady runner-up, lady winner, man runner-up, man winner, and overall winner.
