The NCBA Golf Series is gearing up for its first regional doubleheader as VetLab Sports Club and Tanzania’s Gymkhana Golf Club prepare to host the next tournaments on Saturday, August 24.

Since its launch in March, the series has traveled through Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, drawing over 2,000 golfers. This weekend, more than 200 players are expected at the par-72 VetLab course, while Gymkhana anticipates over 100 golfers. Both events will begin at 6:30 AM.

These tournaments provide golfers with an opportunity to qualify for the grand finale, which will take place at Muthaiga Golf Club in November. From each qualifying event, six players will advance to the finals: the top male and female finishers in Divisions One, Two, and Three, plus the overall Junior winner.

To date, over 100 golfers have secured their spots in the grand finale based on their performances in earlier series events. Known for its dedication to nurturing talent and promoting golf throughout Kenya, the NCBA Golf Series promises competitive and exciting play at the VetLab leg.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora commented on the upcoming tournament, saying:

“We are happy to be back at the VetLab Sports Club and Gymkhana Golf Club this year for this year’s NCBA Golf Series. These events promise intense competition, with top golfers vying for top honors and the chance to play at the Grand Finale in November.

“Participants will not only enjoy a challenging course but also have the opportunity to network and engage with fellow golf enthusiasts. We look forward to witnessing exceptional talent on the course and strengthening our bonds with the golfing fraternity in that region.”

Gachora further emphasized the bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability:

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are planting indigenous trees everywhere we set foot and we will plant 100 trees at both events. This initiative aligns with our broader sustainability goals and contributes to the preservation of our natural environment, our playing environment by extension.”

The VetLab event follows successful tournaments at Limuru and Mombasa earlier this month.
