Detectives are investigating a murder after the body of a man was found on the banks of a river in Nthangu village, Makueni. A local farmer discovered the body near the Kati River and alerted authorities. Police reported that the body had injuries on the back, ribs, and right hand, likely caused by a blunt object.
The incident, reported on September 4, is being treated as a murder investigation. The body was taken to Makueni County Referral Hospital Mortuary for identification and a postmortem examination.
In a separate incident in Embali, Vihiga, the body of a man was found on the roadside after a suspected murder on September 3. The deceased, identified as 40-year-old Enock Olando, had a cut on his left ear. The motive for the killing is still under investigation. The body was moved to Coptic Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.
In Athi River, Machakos, a 58-year-old man, Emmanuel K. Makwere, was found dead in his home on September 3. Although there were no visible physical injuries, severe blood-stained vomit was present. The body was taken to Montezuma Mortuary in Mbagathi for an autopsy.
In Meru, a decomposing body of a man, approximately 45 years old, was found in the Kathita River within Meru town’s CBD. Police are investigating whether the man drowned or was killed. The body was moved to the mortuary for identification and an autopsy.
Police are investigating these cases amid growing concerns over the rising number of murder incidents in the country.
