A fourth-year student from Pwani University in Kilifi was discovered dead in what is suspected to be a murder. The student’s body was found in Kisumu Ndogo on Sunday, a significant time after the killing had occurred.
Police reported that the body showed physical injuries, though the exact cause of death remains unclear. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and efforts to locate additional suspects are ongoing. The body has been moved to a local mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigation.
In Loitoktok, Kajiado County, the body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a thicket following what is suspected to be rape and murder. Police who responded to the scene discovered two condoms and an empty bottle of beer.
The motive behind the crime has yet to be determined. The woman had injuries to her mouth and neck. The recovered items are being held as evidence, and the body has been sent to a local mortuary for an autopsy.
In Molo, Nakuru County, a man’s body was found on the roadside in a suspected murder case. The body had bruises on the forehead and had been left for some time before discovery. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder, and the body has been transported to the mortuary.
In Kasagam, Kisumu, locals discovered a decomposed body in a house. Residents of Bonde village had been disturbed by a foul odor coming from an unoccupied house. Upon investigation, they found the partly decomposed body of an unknown male adult. Police noted that the body had a deep cut wound on the left side of the head.
It is suspected that the deceased was murdered elsewhere and then the body was dumped at the scene. The body has been transported to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital for postmortem and identification.
In Kangeta, Meru County, a group of children collecting firewood discovered the body of a man in a thicket. Police identified the deceased as Joshua Kanyili M’mutea, 51, who had been missing since September 2.
The decomposed body had noticeable deep cuts on the head. The scene appeared undisturbed, suggesting that the murder likely took place elsewhere and the body was simply dumped there. Police believe the location where the body was found is a secondary crime scene. The body has been moved to the Nyambene Level IV Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
