Luton Town have signed former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses. The 33-year-old ex-Nigeria international joins the Championship club as a free agent after leaving Spartak Moscow earlier this summer.

Moses, who spent nearly four years with Spartak after initially joining on loan from Chelsea in 2020, started his professional career with Crystal Palace before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2010. He recently featured for Luton in a closed-door match.

“We think he’s someone who can provide really good competition for us,” Luton boss Rob Edwards said.

Luton Town, who were relegated from the Premier League in May, have only secured one point from their first four Championship games this season. They will face Millwall on Saturday in their first match following the international break. The length of Moses’ contract has not been disclosed.

“He’s played for so many different clubs and managers, which makes him tactically aware,” Edwards added.

Moses won the Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup with Chelsea, though his nine years at Stamford Bridge included multiple loan spells at Liverpool, West Ham, Fenerbahce, and Inter Milan.

“I had a few offers from Europe, but I told my agent I wanted to stay here, and here we are,” Moses said. “I’m excited to join Luton, work hard for the club, and help us get back to the Premier League.”

Moses arrives at a Luton side currently second from bottom in the Championship, struggling to find form since their Premier League relegation last season.
