Residents of Narok town are calling on the government to enhance security following a series of mysterious murders. This appeal comes after the body of a 30-year-old man was found near Maasai Mara University at Eagles Junction. Witnesses reported that the man had a deep head wound, and one of his eyes had been gouged out.

This marks the seventh body discovered in the area within three months, leading to growing concerns among residents. Yusuf Hassan criticized the police for their inaction, which he believes has contributed to the rising insecurity.

“The saddest part is that when a murder happens, no one is arrested. We’re all living in fear because we don’t know who will be next,” Hassan said.

He urged Governor Patrick Ntutu and County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia to take swift action to improve security in the area. Hezbon Nyakundi echoed this sentiment, calling for the installation of street lights and CCTV cameras throughout the town.

“If someone can be killed in our residential area with no action taken, then there’s a serious problem,” Nyakundi said.

A few months ago, two other bodies were found in Kandas Ground and Majengo Estate, further heightening the town’s concerns. Narok County Police Commander Riko Ngare called for community cooperation to help apprehend the perpetrators. He also shared his mobile number, encouraging security officials to contact him directly with any information.
