Police from Ngong police station have launched a search for a middle-aged man suspected of killing two children, aged 4 and 6, and injuring a 19-year-old girl with a sword in Bondeni, Upper Matasia, Kajiado North. The suspect, who is reported to be the uncle of the children and the brother of the injured girl, fled the scene after the attack.
Lilian Mwilu, a neighbor, recounted how the children’s father had asked if she had seen his children, as the door to their house was locked. “When I told him I hadn’t seen them and thought they were at home, he hurried back to the house, broke the padlock, and what we found was shocking. The two children had been killed, and the girl who survived was in pain with injuries,” she said.
Another neighbor, Mwajuma Akai, mentioned hearing screams from the house but initially thought it was just the usual noises from children playing. “I went out to check, but since I didn’t see them outside, I went back inside, only to later find out about the tragic incident,” she said.
The community is demanding justice and the prompt arrest of the suspect. The bodies of the deceased children have been taken to Ngong Hospital mortuary, while the injured girl is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
