Political activist Morara Kebaso has explained why he fled the scene after his vehicle was involved in an accident in Embu on Sunday night. In a statement, he revealed that he left due to fears for his life, expressing concerns about the potential motives of various enemies.

“Yesterday after the accident, I disappeared very fast from the scene in another car because sometimes accidents are used to create confusion so that the real threat can emerge. I don’t want to blame anyone without evidence, but now I know I am on borrowed time,” Morara said.

He elaborated on the many individuals he believes might be after him, stating, “I have too many enemies to start guessing who can do it. This includes government officials we’ve exposed, opposition figures feeling threatened by our influence, tribal chiefs worried about losing their power, presidential candidates fearing competition, and contractors who have vanished after being paid.”

Morara indicated that he plans to enhance his security measures and avoid nighttime engagements, emphasizing his gratitude for surviving the accident. “I will definitely review my security detail upwards. And I will avoid meetings that spill over into the night. I am grateful to be alive, and I believe it’s for a reason, but also for a season because one day I will still die.”

On social media, he shared videos showing damage to his Landcruiser Prado from a side collision, which he attributed to a drunk driver. “I have been involved in a road accident side collision in Kivwe, Embu County, caused by a drunk driver,” he stated, adding that the driver disappeared amid the chaos.
