Popular South African fitness trainer Nkululeko Zane Dlamini, better known as the ‘King of Squats’, has opened up about his ripped physique, especially his butt, which has piqued the curiosity of most Kenyans on social media.

The former professional footballer who was on tour in Nairobi played for Jomo Cosmo Football Club in South Africa but quit football in 2013 to venture into fitness. He has since gone on to become an aerobics instructor famous for his glutes.
The 40-year-old does squats that make his rear end look like the dream goal for most women. His classes are your best bet if you want to get your buns in shape before the holidays.

Most men are put off by his butt, which many consider ‘unconventional’. Zane is also aware of people making fun of his physique on social media. He states that he understands that the reason he went viral online was not necessarily because of his generally toned physique, but because of his butt.

Ever since going viral, Zane notes that there have been a lot of assumptions and misconceptions about how he achieved his slightly larger glutes than the majority of men.
In an interview with Nation Lifestyle, Zane, who is also a teacher by profession, poured cold water on such narratives.
“The reason I went viral is because of my body and specifically my butt. I think in Africa and some parts of Europe, it may have been the first time they saw a man with a toned, firm butt. But the truth is, I have always had a firm butt for many years, since my soccer days. It was never an issue until social media came along.” he says.

Despite the judgment and online trolls accusing him of using growth hormone to achieve his large glutes, Zane is quick to set the record straight.
“It is all natural. My butt is the result of hard training and the intensity of my squats. Genetics have also played a part. I can’t help having a big butt, it’s my genes. Everyone in my family has one. He notes.

But even then, Zane says it took him a long time to build his glutes to where they are now.
“Ever since I was a footballer, it has always been about consistent training. I do an unlimited number of squats a day and eat a lot of protein. Add that to genetics.” he states.

As for those who continue to make fun of him, Zane says it doesn’t bother him at all.
“It’s not an issue for me. The insults do not bother me. I know some people make fun of the men who come to my classes and say they want big butts too, but they are not looking at the men’s quads and how strong they are. They just focus on my butt,” he adds.
