Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi urged the Luo community to carefully consider their political alliances as they plan their future in Kenyan politics. Speaking in Nyatike, he emphasized the importance of selecting political friends wisely.

Mbadi highlighted the gesture from President William Ruto towards the Luo community, suggesting that it demonstrates the possibility of forming political ties with the Rift Valley region. He pointed out that the Rift Valley had supported Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in 2007, indicating a historical basis for political friendship between the communities.

He expressed confidence in Ruto’s willingness to collaborate with all communities, noting that he believes the Luo community could gain Ruto’s support for a future presidential run. Furthermore, Mbadi stated that he would support Ruto in the 2027 elections if Raila Odinga is not on the ballot, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to ensure collaboration between the ODM leader and the president.
