Detectives have destroyed narcotics valued at over Sh176.5 million at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, following the conclusion of a court process overseen by Senior Principal Magistrate Njeri Thuku.

Deputy Director of the DCI, John Onyango, representing DCI Director Mohamed Amin, highlighted that the destruction reflects the directorate’s strong commitment to combatting drug trafficking and abuse. “Every gram of these drugs destroyed represents lives saved,” Onyango said.

The destroyed narcotics included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, amphetamine, atilafetamine, cannabis (bhang), and flunitrazepam. These substances were seized by anti-narcotics detectives in various operations aimed at curbing drug-related crimes.

Principal Magistrate Njeri Thuku praised the DCI for their efforts in protecting the country and commended all stakeholders involved in the process. She emphasized that such actions aim to keep communities safe and safeguard society.

The destruction was witnessed by several key officials, including Allan Mulama from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, Director of the Anti Narcotics Unit Samuel Laboso, Director of Liaison and Corporate Communications John Marete, and officers from the Government Chemist, among others.
