A Delta Airlines Boeing 767 aircraft heading to New York made an emergency stop at Senegal’s Blaise Diagne International Airport on Saturday due to a technical issue, according to Senegal’s transport ministry. The plane, carrying 216 passengers, was safely halted, and no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred during takeoff when the plane executed an acceleration maneuver before making the emergency stop. This follows a recent announcement by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of a new safety review into Boeing after an in-flight emergency in January.
Senegal’s national civil aviation agency and its Bureau of Investigations and Analysis will lead the investigation into the incident.
