Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the primary suspect in the recent murders of three women in Eastleigh, has been apprehended by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

His arrest followed investigations by the Criminal Research and Investigations Bureau, leading to his capture at a hideout in Kamukunji, Nairobi.

The suspect is currently being interrogated at DCI headquarters and is expected to be presented in court on Monday.

Dagane had been in hiding for the past 12 days after being linked to the horrific murders of the three women in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.

On Saturday, CCTV footage captured Dagane inside a building in Eastleigh, prompting detectives from the DCI to intensify their search efforts.

An extensive manhunt was launched, with investigators monitoring his movements through forensic trails.

Despite his attempts to elude capture, including using multiple phone numbers to mislead the authorities, he was cornered on Sunday in Kamukunji.

Upon being identified as the suspect, Dagane underwent a brief questioning session at the Kamukunji police station before being transferred to DCI headquarters for further interrogation by homicide detectives.

Authorities discovered that Dagane possessed several fake documents, including a Kenyan ID. Investigators have established that he previously served as a regional police officer in a neighboring country before relocating to Kenya, where he worked as a driver in various schools in Eastleigh.

Allegations also suggest that Dagane had been imprisoned for a previous murder case involving a family member.

Dagane has been linked to the abduction and subsequent murder of three women: Amina Abidarashid, Nusayba Abdi, and Warris Daud.

Their bodies were discovered in different locations in Nairobi and Machakos.

A vehicle believed to have been used in the abduction was recovered, abandoned at Wakulima Market.

As investigations continue, authorities are working to determine the motive behind the murders and whether Dagane acted alone or in collaboration with others.

Another suspect is currently in custody, reportedly providing assistance to detectives in their inquiries.
