For the first time this Yuletide, fans will enjoy midweek football in the Premier League. The standout clash is obviously Arsenal hosting Manchester United.
However, there will be other important fixtures around the country as we head into a hectic period.
So, which games are we likely to see upset?
Man City vs Nottingham Forest: At this point, Pep Guardiola’s men look like they could lose or drop points to anyone. Against Liverpool last Sunday, they looked short of confidence and played tentatively. Forest are actually enjoying a decent season with striker Chris Wood in the form of his life. If City don’t pull themselves up, they could be in for another poor result.
Newcastle vs Liverpool: On paper, it would appear Liverpool should pick up three points against Newcastle United. However, on closer observation, this game will be played at St James Park. A lot of critics have claimed that Arne Slot has enjoyed a relatively easy start to life in England. Maybe this is the night when the cracks could start to appear.
Southampton vs Chelsea: There are rumours that Enzo Maresca will rest some of his key players at Southampton. If indeed he does, this is a decision that could come back to bite him in the backside. Although the table suggests otherwise, the Saints are a very tricky side to play against. Playing in front of their fans under the lights could see them pumped up for this one.
Bournemouth vs Spurs: Tottenham are such a funny team; from hammering Manchester City 4-0, they went on to draw against Roma and Fulham. You never just know which version of them you will get on any match day. But Bournemouth will not care, as they come into this fixture in good form. Evanilson, Justin Kluivert and Milos Kerkez are in form and ready to cause trouble.
