National Super League (NSL) side Nzoia Sugar FC has intensified its preparations for this weekend’s fixture against Naivas FC by engaging in a series of friendly matches.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Nzoia head coach Charles Odero revealed that the team has been sharpening its form ahead of the match through competitive build-up games to ensure peak performance.
The tactician confirmed that his squad has played against St. Antony Kitale High School and Kiminini Combined FC, using the matches to assess player fitness, tactical formations, and overall team chemistry.
Following the departure of several key players, Nzoia Sugar FC has undergone a squad overhaul, bringing in young talents to fill the gaps. Odero expressed confidence in the new signings, stating that they have settled in well and are making steady progress in training.
With the fresh recruits gaining momentum, Nzoia Sugar FC hopes to put up a strong fight against Naivas FC as they seek a positive result in their NSL campaign.
“The new signings have been sourced locally because we currently lack the financial muscle to bring in experienced players, but I have faith in them after seeing their commitment in training,” he added.
Nzoia Sugar FC is determined to make an impact in the NSL, with ambitions of securing a return to the country’s top-tier league following last season’s relegation.
