Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham, has admitted they were “lucky” not to lose by more than three goals to Arsenal.

Los Blancos were thrashed 3-0 by the Gunners in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Declan Rice put in a man-of-the-matchperformancec with two stunning free kicks in the second half.

Mikel Merino added a third as the Gunners pulled off a sensational result at the Emirates.

After the game, Bellingham said that the LaLiga champions were completely outplayed by Mikel Arteta’s team.

He said: “We’re lucky to get away with only three. We were nowhere near it.

“That’s the fact and Arsenal were really good. I know two of their goals were free-kicks but they could have had way more.

“There is a second leg and that’s what we’re holding on to.”
