A senior administrator in Gatundu South Sub-County has gone into hiding after allegedly sexually assaulting two underage boys, sparking outrage among residents.
The assistant chief of Kamunyu sub-location is accused of carrying out the acts on April 20 in the same village where he was born, raised, and now works as a government representative.
Fearing mob justice, he fled after learning that angry locals were looking for him.
According to one of the victims, the administrator first served him Muratina, a potent traditional brew, before sexually assaulting him while he was unconscious.
The minor recalled going to the chief’s homestead with two friends to deliver milk when the administrator invited them into a separate house and offered them alcohol.
After his friends left to care for a recently circumcised peer nearby, the boy, now alone, became heavily intoxicated. He regained consciousness at home, disoriented and covered in mud, only to find himself bleeding profusely.
A medical examination confirmed that he had been sexually violated, prompting his family to file a report at Gatundu Police Station under OB No. 04/24/04/25.
That same night, the administrator allegedly followed the two other boys to a neighboring homestead.
One victim described how the chief cornered him, asked if he had been circumcised, and then groped him before ordering him to lie on a bed.
The terrified boy resisted, pushing the assailant aside and fleeing into the night. Both minors have since given statements to authorities, but they now live in fear, confining themselves indoors while the administrator remains at large.
Local parents, including Mary Wambui and Jane Njoki, were shocked, describing the accused as a once-respected figure who had even studied for the priesthood.
“How does a man entrusted with upholding law and order turn into a predator?” Wambui questioned.
She further alleged that the administrator had attempted to bribe the victims’ families to silence them.
Residents now fear he may have a history of such crimes, with past victims allegedly coerced into silence through payoffs.
Gatundu South Assistant County Commissioner Rose Chege confirmed the incident, stating that security agencies are actively pursuing the fugitive administrator.
“The victims have been medically examined, and we are working to ensure justice is served,” Chege said.
She criticized the community for failing to report past incidents, allowing the suspect to evade accountability.
