Sheffield United hammered 10-man Bristol City 3-0 in the first leg of their Championship playoff on Thursday.

Rob Dickie was shown a red card for hauling down Kieffer Moore in first half added time.

Up stepped Harrision Burrows to slam home the penalty to give the Blades the lead.

From that moment, Sheffield United took control of the game, having both a man and goal advantage.

Substitutes Andre Brooks and Callum O’Hare then scored in the second half to put them in complete control and plant one big foot into the final at Wembley.

Only the third team to reach 90 points in the Championship without going up automatically, Chris Wilder’s men are now close to a Premier League return.

Ahead of the return leg at Bramall leg on Monday, they are also looking to play for football’s £200 million lottery.
