Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique has defended his Real Madrid counterpart Xabi Alonso after both sides’ Club World Cup semi-final tie on Wednesday.

Erinque’s side defeated Real Madrid 4-0 to qualify for the final where they will face Chelsea on Sunday.

When asked about Alonso’s tactics against PSG, Erinque insisted that the former Bayer Leverkusen manager doesn’t need to prove anything.

According to him, Alonso’s project at Rea Madrid just started, adding that he needs a pre-season.

“Xabi Alonso does not need to prove anything. He needs a pre-season,” Erinque said (via Madrid Zone).

“His project just started. I have been working on this project for more than 2 years now, you cannot compare.

“You can’t judge Xabi Alonso. He hasn’t had the time to work on anything yet. He needs time.”
