Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has blamed fatigue for their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the 2025 Club World Cup final on Sunday.

The Ligue 1 champions failed to lift their fifth trophy of the season after losing to the Blues.

But speaking with PSG’s official website, Al-Khelaifi insisted he is proud of the players.

“Congratulations to Chelsea. They deserved their victory,” he said.

“We wanted to win this Club World Cup, but it’s difficult.

“The players gave their all. They were tired. We had a great season, the best in the club’s history.

“We’re proud of the players and the staff. This defeat is good for us, for next season. We have to be humble. We’re the youngest team in the competition.”
