Kenya Power has warned the public and its customers of individuals soliciting bribes and illegal favors whilst impersonating the company’s managing director (MD) and CEO, Eng. (Dr.) Joseph Siror.

In a statement on Friday, the company emphasized that they have a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, fraud or any conduct that goes against ethical standards set out for companies as they go on with carrying out their business.

“All payments for electricity services should be made through authorized namely mobile money, banks and banking halls in Kenya Power offices and receipts obtained for the same,” read part of the public alert.

Kenya Power has advised its clientele and the public to exercise vigilance and report any suspicious activities or attempts to impersonate its officials to law enforcement or the nearest Kenya Power office.

They’ve also been urged to authenticate persons who present themselves as Kenya Power officials by dialing *977# and to work together with the company to safeguard the community from fraudsters.
