A Mombasa blogger who earlier claimed he was kidnapped and sodomized is now accusing the Witness Protection Unit of abandoning him at his point of greatest need.

Narrating his nine-month ordeal, the victim alleges that officers misled him into believing he was being taken to Kilifi for a court matter, only to be dumped back in Mombasa, where he fears for his life.

The victim further claims that politicians who once used him to attack their rivals have since deserted him and have been in hiding for the past nine months under the Witness Protection Unit, in pursuit of justice that took him across Nairobi, Kakamega, and Embu Counties.

But the once Mombasa-based blogger now says the last three months have been the hardest, sometimes going for two days without food, as he endures the pain of broken promises and injuries from violent attacks, including the loss of teeth.

“Wameniacha na damage ya meno mimi nahangaika jameni walinitoa kwangu vitu zangu zimeibwa sina mahali pa kuenda kwetu siwezi kwenda. Maisha yetu ni ya shida,” he said.

He further claims that officers deceived him into believing he was being taken to Kilifi County, closer to Mombasa, ahead of his court case on August 25, 2025, only to abandon him in Mombasa, leaving him stranded in front of his parents.

“Kufika Mombasa wakampigia babangu simu tukakutana naye kwa hoteli moja wakamwambia babangu kijana yuko sawa akasema yuko sawa sasa kijana tumemterminate kwa program tumewaachia kwa amani,” he stated.

The victim now blames a group of politicians, saying they used him to target their opponents with promises of protection, only to abandon him once their interests were served.

“Masaibu haya yote yaliyonikuta ni kwa sababu ya wanasiasa kunitumia. Mimi sahizi nimeosha mkono kwa siasa chafu, nimerekebishika, nimepata funzo langu. Wanasiasa wamenitumia, naomba mashirika ya kutetea haki munisaidie,” noted the victim.

The victim is now seeking justice, saying he has nowhere to live after his host gave him a two-day ultimatum to vacate the house. He is also urging fellow bloggers to uphold integrity and avoid being exploited for political gain.

“Mimi am a victim, I am a testimony. Yale ninayopitia Mungu ndio anajua,” he added.

The 24-year-old was allegedly abducted on September 12, 2024 by a group of about 20 people, among them county officials, from his home in Bamburi.

The group reportedly assaulted and sodomised him before leaving him at a dump site. At the time, he said they forced him to apologise for criticising the Mombasa County Government.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir later said he was “hurt” by accusations linking him and his family to the abduction and sodomy of a blogger based in the coastal city for allegedly criticising the county government.
Addressing a press conference in Mombasa, Nassir distanced himself from the “heinous act”, terming it “shocking” that he and his mother were accused of orchestrating the attack.

“Throughout my life, neither I nor any of my family members have crossed the line of meting out violence on anyone. Even on public platforms, my policy is never to mention anyone by name, or speak vulgar language,” the governor said.

Nassir spoke moments after the release of his aide and County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Mohamed Hussein, who was arrested in connection with the blogger’s assault.
