The body of a man who was allegedly murdered and covertly buried by his own son more than two years ago has been discovered in Kitui County by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The suspect, identified as Musee Ngui, allegedly killed his father, Ngui Ngunza, before burying him on their family land in Nguuni village, Mwingi West.

According to police reports, Musee misled relatives at the time, claiming his father had traveled, which prolonged the mystery of the elder Ngunza’s sudden disappearance.

The breakthrough came after Musee was arrested two weeks ago in Matuu, Machakos County, where he had been hiding.

His arrest followed separate accusations that he had defiled and impregnated his two daughters.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the earlier crime and led homicide detectives to a shallow grave located behind their homestead.

The remains of the deceased were exhumed under tight security in the presence of law enforcement officers and shocked villagers.

Relatives expressed relief that the painful uncertainty surrounding their kin’s fate had finally been resolved, while urging authorities to ensure justice is delivered.
