City lawyer Wahome Thuku has rushed with speed to pour cold water on claims that Kalonzo Musyoka is en route to Ruto’s camp.
Through his Facebook handle on Friday, November 14, 2025, Wahome stated that he had a joint phone call with lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, a close ally of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
In the phone call, Thuku says, Maanzo clarified his attendance at a public rally organised by President William Ruto at Wote in Makueni town.

According to Thuku, “The Senator acknowledged that at no point did he and the governor Mutula Kilonzo ask the people to support the current regime in 2027.
“Initially, the Senator had not been invited to the president’s meeting, but he said the area residents called him there to address certain matters and he obliged.”
The lawyer added that the phone call ended with an understanding that whatever transpired, or will transpire in future, the bottom line is that the Makueni community has resolved to send Kasongo (Ruto) home one way.

Hours earlier, Maanzo himself took to social media to address swirling speculations about his political loyalties.
Maanzo declares a stand
“How will Ruto force us to join the government? I can assure you that the things he promised in Ukambani, none of which he said would be done by May, are in the budget.
“Unless he is going to make a supplementary budget, and even then, he can’t deny development to other parts of the country just to bring it to Ukambani. These are blatant lies,” Maanzo said on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Thuku’s intervention appears aimed at quelling rumours that Maanzo is shifting allegiance from Wiper to Ruto’s camp.
He emphasised that Maanzo’s attendance at the Wote rally was purely to address residents’ issues and not an endorsement of the President or his 2027 bid.
The clarification comes amid heightened political tensions in Ukambani as parties and leaders prepare for the 2027 general elections.
The Head of State has today on Friday, November 14, 2025, entered his day 3 of Ukamban, where he is expected to tour Machakos County.
