Police in Kigumo Sub-County have nabbed a person of interest and recovered several stolen police uniforms in the Kangari area, Murang’a County.
A statement by the National Police Service on Monday, December 1, 2025, revealed that officers from Kangari Police Station intercepted the person of interest following a tip-off from members of the public.
Further, the NPS revealed that a search recovered jungle trousers, a police shirt with a corporal’s chevron, and a blue police jersey.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the uniforms had been stolen from a police station in Nyamira North. The suspect was placed in custody pending further police action,” the statement read in part.
“The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to protecting government property and preventing the misuse of police equipment, as such misuse could compromise public safety and security.”
The National Police Service has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Makutano
This comes a day after police officers from Kikuyu Police Station arrested four persons of interest linked to drug peddling in the Makutano area.
The National Police Service (NPS), in a statement issued on Sunday, November 30, 2025, said the intelligence-led operation was launched after credible information from members of the public pointed to an active drug distribution network in the area.
Officers moved in swiftly, arresting the persons of interest and recovering a significant haul of cannabis.
During the raid, police seized 1,107 rolls of bhang and an additional 6 kilograms of loose cannabis, with a combined estimated street value of Ksh 210,000. The four were taken into custody and are currently being processed ahead of their scheduled arraignment.
“Officers from Kikuyu Police Station have conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Makutano area, leading to the arrest of four suspected drug peddlers. The suspects will be processed and arraigned in court. The operation also led to the recovery of 1,107 rolls and 6 kg of bhang, with an estimated street value of Ksh 210,000,” the NPS stated.
