One arrested as police seize over 2K rolls of bhang in Juja

One person of interest has been arrested after being found in possession of 2,983 rolls of bhang during a police operation in Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County.

In a statement shared by the National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday, December 21, 2025, police said the arrest followed an intensified crackdown on illicit brews and narcotic drugs in the Kimbo area.

The operation was conducted by officers from Juja Sub-County working in collaboration with the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).

“Police officers in Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County, in collaboration with NACADA, have intensified operations targeting illicit brews and narcotic drugs following a successful crackdown in the Kimbo area,” the NPS stated.

During the operation, officers recovered a large quantity of suspected narcotic substances. According to the police, the haul included 2,983 rolls and 94 sachets of plant material believed to be Cannabis sativa. Other items recovered at the scene included a digital weighing scale, assorted packaging materials, cash suspected to be proceeds of crime, and several mobile phones.

“One person of interest was arrested and escorted to the police station, where the recovered items were secured as exhibits,” the statement read.

The individual remains in lawful custody as police process the case ahead of arraignment in court.

The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to tackling the production, trafficking, and distribution of illegal drugs and alcohol, noting that such activities continue to pose a serious threat to public health, security, and the socio-economic well-being of communities.

“The National Police Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to combating the production, trafficking, and distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol, which continue to threaten public health, security, and the socio-economic wellbeing of communities,” NPS stated.

Members of the public were also urged to work closely with law enforcement agencies by sharing information that can help curb drug-related activities in their areas.
