Police nab person of interest in Eastleigh murder, seize firearm and stolen motorcycle

Detectives have arrested a person of interest in connection with a murder in Eastleigh following a targeted operation that led to the recovery of a firearm and suspected stolen property.

In a statement shared on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) official X account on Sunday, December 21, 2025, the detectives disclosed that a joint team of detectives from Dandora and Shaurimoyo apprehended the suspect, identified as Peter Kimani, alias Kim, along Gallole Street in Eastleigh.

The arrest followed intelligence-led investigations linking him to the murder case.

“A team of detectives from Dandora and Shaurimoyo have arrested a person of interest in an operation that also saw the recovery of a firearm and stolen property,” the statement reads.

“The person of interest, Peter Kimani, aka Kim, was cornered along Gallole Street in Eastleigh.”

Recovered items

During the operation, officers recovered a Retay Falcon pistol, a live 9mm hollow-point round, and a spent cartridge of the same calibre from the person of interest’s possession.

Police also impounded a red Boxer motorcycle, registration KMGT 530S, which is believed to have been stolen.

“From his possession, officers seized a Retay Falcon pistol, a live 9mm hollow‑point round, and a spent cartridge of similar calibre,” the statement reads.

“In addition, detectives impounded a red Boxer motorcycle, registration KMGT 530S, believed to have been stolen.”

The person of interest is currently being held in police custody as detectives complete investigations and process the case ahead of his arraignment in court.

“Kimani is currently in custody as investigators finalise processing ahead of his arraignment in court,” the statement reads.
