Police hunt woman after 3 children found dead in Mlolongo

Twin sisters and their elder brother have died after being poisoned in what police suspect was an act committed by their biological mother in Mlolongo Phase Three, Mavoko Sub-County, Machakos County.

Confirming the incident, Athi River East Sub-County Police Commander Anderson Mbae said the three children, a four-year-old boy and his one-year-old twin sisters, were found dead inside their parents’ rented house at Neema Plaza in Mlolongo Phase Three.

According to Mbae, the matter was reported by the caretaker of Neema Plaza, who told police she had received a text message from the children’s mother asking her to visit the house and witness wonders, claiming she had already fled.

“Suspecting the ordeal, the caretaker called the police, who accompanied her to the said house and found the three children lying dead. The police commander added, the body of the boy was found lying on the baby cot, while the twins were lying on the bed,” he said.

Adding;

“Form was found emanating from the children’s mouths.”

A police report seen by K24 Digital indicates that the person of interest appeared to be aware of what had happened in the house, prompting her to go into hiding before alerting the caretaker.

The Athi River East police boss said officers from Mlolongo Police Station visited the scene, but the suspect had already fled. A manhunt has since been launched to arrest her and arraign her in court.

According to police records under OB No. 62/26/01/26 at 1300 hours, the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of January 25 to 26, 2026, at an unknown time.

The scene was visited and documented by officers from Mlolongo Police Station, who collected samples before the bodies were taken to the City Mortuary for preservation pending post mortem examinations.

The motive behind the incident has not yet been established.
