Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has cautioned President William Ruto over what awaits him if he continues to ignore the cries of Kenyans facing difficulty amid scandals in his administration.

Salasya said in a statement on Thursday, February 12, 2026, that God himself will intervene and get Ruto out of power if he does not use the office of the presidency well at a time when Kenyans are facing harsh economic times and challenges in healthcare, education and other aspects of life.

“My prayers to President Ruto this morning are that you use well the office of the presidency that God gave you rightfully and holistically, or God is going to use His powers and influence to get you out of that office,” Salasya warned.

Salasya accuses Ruto of underperformance

He accused the president of focusing on painting a rosy picture that things are working at a time when the opposite is true, with little to appreciate in his administration.

“Kenyans are crying over health matters and a hard economy, a lot of PR with little to appreciate,” he continued.

Touching on the budget of Ksh4.7 trillion that was recently tabled in cabinet, the lawmaker questioned why the country has a big budget with nothing to show for it on the ground, adding that most Kenyans are overburdened by taxes.

“I have seen a budget of 4.7T already out. The payslips of Kenyans are under distress because of the SHA housing levy, the NSSF increase in tax, and the big budget with little on the ground,” the MP said.

MP predicts God’s wrath

He touched on the sale of strategic assets by the Ruto administration, cautioning that God will strike any leader who works with Ruto.

“If you continue ruling Kenyans like this, God will punish any leader who works with you, either by striking them with unknown diseases or just by Himself crashing them like ants, and God Himself will open the minds of Kenyans to punish you at the ballot,” Salasya added.

He poked holes in Ruto’s record and conduct, urging him to fix the problems facing SHA within the time remaining.

“President, change when it’s not too late; something is cooking out. The SHA system alone costs Kenyans 104B, yet we could have paid 30B and strengthened the healthcare in Kenya by stabilising hospitals. This is absurd,” the legislator concluded.
