The battle for the crown of Kenya’s female rap scene just got hotter.
Maandy and Dyana Cods, who have been publicly beefing for weeks, were already making headlines after Maandy released a diss track aimed at Dyana Cods, challenging her claim to the title of the best female rapper.
Now, the competition has intensified with the entry of Shekina Karen Mwangi, who has thrown her hat into the ring. Shekina Karen has released her own diss track dubbed “Queen Mother 01”, in which she boldly stakes her claim to the throne of female rap.
In a warning video shared on her social media accounts on Monday, March 9, 2026, hours after releasing the diss track, Shekina addressed the ongoing drama, calling out competitors and asserting her superiority.

Additionally, Shekina warned that no one could start a fight they couldn’t handle and questioned why anyone would claim to be the best female rapper when they knew they were not.
She insisted that she was the real queen and called out those who loved stirring drama, adding that people could claim to be the best at writing poems, PE songs, or lullabies, but she questioned whether they were truly confident in their rapping skills.
The self-proclaimed best female rapper further stated that “Queen Mother 01” was just the beginning, with ten more tracks to come, warning others not to get in her way.
“Usaianzishe vita huwezi, mbona useme wewe ndio the best female rapper na unajua unadanganya, Shekina Karen ndio mama yao nyinyi pia mnapenda uchokozi, sema wewe ndio best female kwa kuandika mashairi, best female kwa kuandika ngoma za PE, best female kwa kuandika lullabies, lakini kurap uko sure?” Shekina said.
“Queen mother 01 na zinakuja zengine kama hiyo kumi chunga usikuwe hapo, I’m here to take what is mine, the throne.“

In her diss track, delivered in Sheng, Shekina warned other female rappers attempting to challenge her, making it clear that she would not back down.
Using her sharp lyrics and street-smart wordplay, she asserted her dominance in the Kenyan rap scene, declaring herself the undisputed queen of rap and signalling that anyone trying to diss her would face the full force of her lyrical skills.
“Kwa rap mimi ndio fao hao wengine hawafiki, mimi siyo rika yao; niko juu yao mi shiki, nitishie kwa mtandao lakini kwa grao mimi ni bigi, tena ukinidiss nakutrace nakudiscipline,” part of the lyrics of Shekina’s diss track.
“Sitaki kuweka uadui. Mimi ni mode, wewe kwangu ni learner, hizo ni AI tunajua wewe siyo donga, unangoja chorus. Next time usiogope kunitaja ukinidiss.”
