Police in Nairobi County have arrested a suspected drug peddler in Njiru.

The operation was carried out by officers from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) and the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU).

The 30-year-old suspect, Caleb Ochieng Nisa, was detained and led police to his residence.

During the search, officers confiscated six and a half sacks of bhang, as well as six empty sacks likely used for packaging.

“Also recovered is a mountain of polythene materials, laying bare the inner workings of a well-organised packaging and distribution syndicate designed to poison our streets and ruin the lives of our youth,” police stated.

The suspect is currently undergoing processing at the station and will be arraigned soon.

Meanwhile, the seized narcotics have been secured as exhibits for further investigation.
