Kenyan boxer Portifas Odipo, better known as Majembe, has sent a bold warning to East African fighters, directly targeting Tanzania’s Karim Mandonga, aka Mtu kazi and other boxers in the region ahead of a potential showdown.

In a video shared on his official Instagram account on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Majembe declared that he is ready to take on fighters from across East Africa, urging them to prepare for what he described as an incoming storm in the ring.

He, who finally accepted Mandonga’s challenge, specifically called out Tanzanian and Ugandan boxers, warning them that he would be coming for them.

“East Africa, we are coming to conquer. #are you ready?” Majembe asked.

Nyinyi wa Tanzania na Uganda, mujipange tu kila mtu atapata jembe lake tunakuja, tutawafikia musijali just prepare.

The Vurugu Night Fight champion insisted that his focus is on dominance, saying every opponent should get ready for a tough fight.

Nyinyi mujitayarishe na mukaye mukijua; we are coming for you, we are coming soon, just train, challenge imekubaliwa Mandonga and others; I am coming for you,” he added.

Majembe vs Mandonga

Majembe’s warning comes after the vocal Tanzanian boxer publicly challenged him to a boxing match.

In a series of statements shared online, Mandonga expressed strong confidence in his abilities, suggesting he is ready to face him if he accepts the challenge.

The outspoken boxer hinted that he is prepared for a high-intensity fight, saying he is not afraid of stepping into the ring against Majembe if the match is officially arranged.

Sasa wa #kenya nawambia kabisa uyo #Majembe kazi soon nakuja kumchakaza kama anaweza ajaribu aone #ndoige inavyo mpitia kumi mpya kutoka kwenye vita vya Irani soon naitangaza majembe kazi unayo,” Mandonga said.

In his response before finally agreeing to the challenge, Majembe had set conditions for Mandonga before he could accept the proposed bout.

The Vurugu Night Fight champion said he is open to the challenge but insisted that Mandonga must first meet specific weight requirements before any fight can be considered.
