Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala will be out to build on his blazing start to the season when he lines up at the Addis Ababa Grand Prix this weekend.

The Kenyan sprint king already fired an early warning shot in his outdoor opener at the Cape Milers Meeting in Stellenbosch, South Africa last Friday, storming to victory in the 100m in a solid 10.19 — a statement run that signaled intent for the season ahead.

Now, all eyes shift to Addis Ababa on Sunday, where Omanyala will be keen to extend his momentum and stamp his authority early in the campaign.

He headlines a strong Kenyan sprint cast that includes former national record holder Mark Otieno, his brother Isaac Omurwa, and Samuel Chege.

The quartet is set for a tough test against a competitive field featuring Ethiopian sprinters and American speedsters, including Lawrence Johnson and Samuel Blaskowski — setting the stage for a thrilling 100m showdown.
