The family of a businessman and MCA aspirant, Mohammed Abdi Noor Ismail, is demanding answers over his alleged abduction on the night of April 22 in Kariokor.
They claim he was taken by hooded men believed to be police officers.
The family says Noor disappeared outside his shop shortly after closing, and despite a week of searches, his whereabouts remain unknown.
Relatives say they later received a call from his phone claiming he was at Dagoretti Police Station, but he was not found there.
They have also raised concerns over a TikTok video allegedly predicting his abduction.
The matter was taken to court on Thursday under a habeas corpus application, but the hearing was pushed to May 6 after officers summoned failed to appear.
“He was putting his things away in his car to get ready to go home when two men started chasing him. The security guard was here with him and he said he saw almost around four people and they had a white Toyota Hilux. They roughed him up before they put him in, before they identified themselves as policemen and put him in the car,” said Kowthar Mohammed, Noor’s daughter.
“Tunataka serikali yetu kama iko na mkono yao na ito mtu atutoelee mtu yetu. Tunataka kujua serikali kama mtu yetu ameabductiwa na serikali si wangekuja na warrant of arrest,” said Habiba Olad, Noor’s aunt.
The family is now calling on authorities to account for his whereabouts as anxiety grows over his disappearance.
