Nairobi City Hall’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has shared an encouraging update on a young man he has been supporting through rehabilitation and recovery.

In a post shared via his Instagram page on Thursday, May 7, 2026, Mosiria reflected on how he first encountered the young man, known to many as Alex from Kahawa Sukari, during a difficult period in his life and decided to step in and offer support.

“Mnakumbuka Alex wa Kahawa Sukari? I met him last year and he seemed to be going through a lot and was not really okay. I offered to support him, and since then, he has been undergoing recovery at Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction,” Mosiria stated.

According to him, Alex has since made steady progress through the rehabilitation programme and is now approaching an important milestone in his recovery journey, showing signs of stability and renewed focus.

“Today, I am happy to say that Alex is doing well and is now on the final stages of his rehabilitation journey as we work on the process of reintegrating him into society. We are also finalising plans on how he will continue with school and eventually get a job to help him rebuild his life and stay focused,” Mosiria stated.
