Presidential aspirant and former Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i believes no cartel will compromise him if elected as the president of Kenya in the 2027 elections.

Speaking to Mulembe FM on Tuesday, Matiang’i said he would never allow his children to do business with the government, as it would make him lose moral authority to manage people.

“I can look at your face and tell you, my dear friend, there is no cartel that would compromise me. There is nobody who would compromise me. There is nobody in this world who would compromise me,” said Matiang’i.

Matiang’i called on those who share his vision of a better country to join him in the journey.

The presidential hopeful argued that Kenyans love their country and will follow the law by doing what needs to be done.

The Presidential candidate also referred to his tenure as education minister, where he was tasked with dealing with exam cheating.

He argued that he dealt with the deep-rooted vice, despite caution from stakeholders in the education sector.

“There is nothing you cannot do in this country if you are focused and serious. We have public servants who are committed and patriotic, very well trained to serve their country,” he said.

Matiang’i further noted that Kenya lacks sensible and serious leaders to implement change.

“I’m I that. I will fix it because I will not be intimidated by cartels,” said the former minister.
