Police in Uriri, Migori County are investigating a disturbing incident where a five-year-old girl was reportedly strangled to death by unidentified attackers near her family home in Central Kanyamkago.

George Odhiambo, the Location Chief of Central Kanyamkago, confirmed the incident, stating that the girl’s lifeless body was found within a partially constructed house not far from her residence.

Initial findings suggest that the assailant used the child’s clothing to carry out the act. While the motive behind the killing remains unclear, local DCI officers are actively pursuing leads.

The deceased child’s body has been transferred to Migori Referral Hospital mortuary for further examination and police inquiry.
