A Kenya Defence Forces soldier is recovering from serious stab wounds following an attack by a gang along Waiyaki Way, Nairobi. Police reported being alerted to the incident on the morning of July 17, finding the victim bleeding on the roadside.

The soldier, attached to the Department of Defence headquarters, was discovered at Dam View Bus Stage with a severe stab wound on his left hand bicep.

Witnesses stated that the soldier was waiting to board a matatu towards the city center when two suspected thugs accosted him. In the ensuing struggle, the soldier was stabbed, and the assailants fled, taking his mobile phone. The victim received first aid at Eagles Hospital in Kangemi before being transferred to Forces Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Police are actively pursuing the suspects.

In Narok North, a 61-year-old man named Charles Moranga Makwaro was fatally stabbed during an altercation at a bus stop. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack, which occurred while Makwaro was waiting for his wife to be dropped off by a bodaboda rider.

The rider became violent and stabbed Makwaro in the leg. He was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead during treatment. Police are searching for the suspect.

Additionally, in Teso North, Busia County, police are looking for a suspect linked to the stabbing death of 54-year-old Desmond Omoit. Omoit’s body was discovered near Kakurkit High School on the morning of July 15.

He was reportedly involved in a love triangle, accused of having an affair with a married woman. The woman’s husband confessed to locals that he attacked and stabbed Omoit after finding him in a compromising situation with his wife, who managed to escape. Police moved Omoit’s body to Kocholia Sub-County mortuary for a postmortem examination.
