AKA’s memorial and funeral plans made public.

Details of the memorial and funeral program for the late South African rapper AKA has been released by his family.

According to a detailed program, he will be laid to rest in a private provincial ceremony on Saturday 18 February.

The memorial will be held on Friday, February 17, at Sandton convention center with part of the memorial reading,

Kiernan Forbes, 35, was killed with his close friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, as they were walking toward their car.

“They were allegedly approached by two armed suspects who walked to them from across the street and shot the victims at close range,” police said in a statement.

The 35-year-old musician’s death was confirmed by his family.

“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son,” his parents Tony and Lynn Forbes said.

“Our son was loved, and he gave love in return. To us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend [and] most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo.”
