A Kenyan plumber who had grown tired of being insulted online by a stranger decided to take matters into his own hands, using a fabricated job offer to get the man in the same room and demand answers.
The plumber, a fundi, told his colleagues that the individual had been relentlessly abusing him on social media. After attempts to resolve the matter privately, including reaching out via direct message and asking for an apology, the man refused to back down.
That is when the tradesman hatched his plan.
He dangled a job opportunity as bait, and the alleged bully took it, travelling all the way from Mlolongo to meet him.
Plumber Corners the Bully with Job
Once the man arrived, the plumber wasted no time making clear what was really happening.
“These are the texts, he has been insulting me and I went to his DM asking why and for him to apologise but he refused. I told him to stop abusing me he refused and I told him I have work and he has come all the way from Mlolongo and now he is here,” the plumber told those present.
When pressed on his reasons, the bully reportedly admitted he had been doing it for attention, despite the repeated harassment causing real distress.
Rather than reacting with anger, the plumber took a disarming approach. “Bro tell me what you want so you can stop this. Are you hungry? Have you ever eaten pizza? Tell me because if its hunger we can fix this but I am not giving you a job,” he said.
The accused sat quietly, visibly shaken and unable to offer a convincing defence. Feeling the weight of the moment, he eventually muttered, “You can take me to jail.”
The plumber declined, saying his intention was never to ruin the man’s life. He simply wanted to understand why someone would go to such lengths to make his online presence a source of misery.
