Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has dismissed claims of a rift between President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua. In a video shared by the Star, Babu Owino asserted that there is no discord between the President and the Deputy President, alleging that it is merely a political strategy.

“I want to state clearly that there is no fight here, these are gimmicks,” he emphasized.

The lawmaker suggested that the recent rumored tension between the two leaders is a tactic aimed at ensuring the Kenya Kwanza government retains its support base in the Mt. Kenya region. Babu Owino confidently stated that the Deputy President will continue to collaborate with Ruto in 2027, downplaying the significance of the alleged fallout.

He also addressed the people of the Mount Kenya region, encouraging them to align themselves with his political stance.

Reports of a rift between Ruto and Gachagua surfaced following a verbal exchange between the Deputy President and individuals perceived to be close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta. Gachagua implicated certain leaders aligned with Ruto for sowing division in the Mount Kenya region, asserting that they would not succeed.
