Kenyan musician Bahati has opened up about a terrifying road accident that left his Toyota Prado extensively damaged, with the incident occurring just days before a major family milestone.

The singer took to social media to alert his followers about the crash, saying he was shaken but grateful to have come out of it alive.

Was Bahati involved in an accident?

“I just got involved in a bad road accident… My Prado is seriously damaged, but we thank God to be alive!” he wrote in his post.

Images and footage from the scene painted a grim picture of the state of his vehicle.

The front bonnet, headlights and bumper had all taken a severe beating, while the rear of the car showed equally concerning damage, including a smashed back door window.

A matatu from 2NK Sacco was visible behind Bahati’s vehicle, with its front end also showing signs of impact.

Will Bahati still host his wedding?

Despite the frightening nature of the crash, Bahati appeared to escape without serious physical injuries. He did, however, seem visibly shaken by the experience.

What made the timing particularly striking was that the accident happened just days before what he described as a highly anticipated family event scheduled for 6 November.

Rather than letting the incident dampen his spirits, Bahati framed it as an attempt by outside forces to derail the occasion.

“The devil knows he can do nothing to stop #TheBahatisBigDay, so he is trying the impossible Ways! This Friday, 6th November will be the best day of our lives in Jesus name… Everbody say AMEN 🙏,” he wrote.

What is Bahati’s big day?

The Bahsatis are preparing for an exclusive black-tie ceremony on Friday, November 6, 2026, to celebrate their 10 years together.

The couple announced that the event would be limited to 100 guests, with invitations reportedly going for KSh 1 million each, potentially raising KSh 100 million if all slots are taken.

The celebrations have also attracted attention over strict media restrictions, with journalists, cameras and live streaming reportedly banned from the venue.

Meanwhile, speculation has emerged that the highly publicised occasion could double as a launchpad for Bahati’s political ambitions, with reports linking him to a possible bid for the Mathare North parliamentary seat on a DCP ticket. Bahati made clear that the November 6 event would go ahead as planned, insisting that neither the accident nor anything else would stand in the way of what he called the best day of his life. The exact nature of the occasion has not been fully disclosed, though his messaging strongly hints at a significant personal celebration for the Bahati family.
