Banissa Member of Parliament (MP) Kulow Maalim Hassan is dead.

The MP succumbed to injuries he sustained after he was hit by a motorbike on Saturday.

He was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital after the hit-and-run incident in Nairobi’s South B Estate.

His colleagues, led by Eldas MP Adan Keynan have mourned him as an illustrious leader and a devoted public servant.

“Kulow was the epitome of an illustrious leader, a devoted public servant and an amiable figure in the community who discharged his leadership responsibilities with great honour and dexterity,” Keynan said.

Mandera West MP Adan Haji sent his condolences to the people of Banissa and the family of his late colleague.

“Maalim was a great leader and a devote Muslim who has played a pivotal role in our society,” he said.

The late MP has represented the constituency in the August House since 2017. He also served as a member of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing.
