Bandari FC head coach John Baraza has urged his players to aim for a strong finish as the KPL 2023-2024 season concludes. The Dockers have three away matches remaining, starting with a clash against Tusker FC at Machakos Stadium this weekend.

This will be followed by a midweek encounter with Police FC, and the season finale against relegation-threatened FC Talanta.

Baraza is confident in his team’s ability to win these matches and hopes to finish among the top three teams.

“We have prepared well, the boys have shown a positive attitude, and everyone is working very hard for the remaining fixtures. I believe we will get maximum points and hopefully improve on our current position (fourth),” said Baraza.

The team will travel from Mombasa to Nairobi on Thursday evening for early preparations to face Tusker FC. Baraza noted that there are no injuries in the squad, and he will be traveling with 23 players to ensure both quality and quantity for the final matches within the span of a week.

Addressing the concern over expiring contracts of six players, Baraza assured that the board is working to retain the deserving members.

“The board is handling the contracts issue, and I believe decisions will be performance-based. If you had a good season, there’s no need to panic. Before we start scouting for new players, we have to ensure we keep our best,” Baraza explained.

In preparation for the final matches, Bandari has played three build-up matches against Coast-based teams, winning all convincingly: 5-0 against Tezo Youngsters from Kilifi County, 3-0 against Coast Stars FC, and 9-1 against FKF Coast Region league’s Mombasa All Stars.

Bandari currently sits in fourth place with 48 points, 19 points behind the already crowned champions Gor Mahia FC.
