Sauti Sol’s lead singer, Bien Aima Barasa, confessed to having a strong aversion to what many Kenyans consider their favorite staple food – githeri.
When asked about his least favorite meal, Bien unapologetically listed githeri, emphasizing that he dislikes it so much that he has a strict rule against it in his house.
“I told my house manager, my wife, and my mum also know that nobody is allowed to cook that food in my house. It is the worst meal in my world,” he declared.
Pressed further on whether he had attempted to enhance the taste of githeri, Bien shared, “I tried eating it with avocado, BlueBand, and other things, but it did not work.”
The Chikwere hitmaker attributed his distaste for githeri to his time in boarding school, revealing, “I also don’t do cabbage because of high school.”
Bien’s revelation joins a growing list of celebrities who have publicly shared their food dislikes.
Notably, Nameless and Maina Kageni admitted to disliking avocados, with Nameless expressing his confusion over the widespread love for the fruit.
“I don’t like avocados, I did not even know avocado is such a big deal. I used to see my wife enjoying it so much but I could not understand what the fuss was all about. Till I went to social media and found everyone saying avocado is bae. I used to think she is weird till I realised that it’s more like a movement. After seeing that everybody likes it I decided to give it a try but I did not find its taste appealing.”
Kiss FM’s Chito Ndlovu disclosed his allergic reaction to omena, stating:
“I am allergic to omena. I used to eat it, but it started reacting; when I eat, I get reactions immediately. I think omena reacts because of the high protein in it.”
However, Chito clarified that he does not experience the same reaction with common fish such as tilapia.
